![]() ![]() PC By Desulated Highest Rated 5 Bond takes his first step to the PC, only to stumble. On the multiplayer side of things, there are over ten multiplayer modes, some of which include characters and settings from previous Bond moves. 007 Nightfire for the PC is a prime example of how not to port a console classic. These missions aren't available in the computer version of the game, instead the Windows version has some other bonus missions. ![]() There are five levels that take place in your Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, and other exotic but deadly sports cars. There are twelve total missions, all of which combine stealth, combat, and Q's trusty gadgets, such as your laser watch and X-ray eyeglasses.' In your quest to stop the Phoenix Corporation, you have a variety of weapons available to you, from your trusty Walther to more advanced and prototype machinery. Throughout the game, you will be taken to more than ten exotic areas, reaching all areas of the globe, confronting the beautiful Bond women. Because his plans are so well hidden, it is up to Bond, with the help of Q and his gadgets, to stop Drake at whatever cost. Perhaps my favourite feature is the addition of multiplayer bots, something severely lacking in many modern shooters. Again this is fairly standard shooter fare with small things like remote control vehicles used to try and give it a more distinct flavour. Annoyingly much is held back from you till you have advanced quite far into the single player with many iconic characters locked unless you manage to acheive some insane scores (generated from time spent, damage taken etc.) on missions. ![]() Here you have all the modes you would expect from Deathmatch to Capture the Flag with a few variations where you must protect a specific member of your team or steal data. Really the game comes into its own (like many shooters) in its multiplayer. Building on Agent under Fires success, Nightfire continues Bonds first person shooter tradition with a mission-based single. In a nod to the fact Bond is supposedly a spy there are some mandatory stealth sections and many missions allow for a slightly more stealthy approach but as with many shooters this comes off more as annoying than fun in most cases, the ai being too stupid yet too insanely accurate and reactive to make the stealth shine. In all honesty the plot is somewhat lacking in this first person shooter from EA but leads to some fun set pieces and plenty of intense shootouts.
